FAs Love These Marketing Materials Most, But ...

When it comes to fundsters' marketing materials, FAs have a clear favorite, according to new research from the folks at a consulting firm that supports asset managers.

"Advisors consistently rank fact sheets as the most valuable marketing material," Lisa Travaglini, director of editorial at Fuse Research Network, reveals in new Fuse findings.

On a scale of 1 to 5 (with 5 being most valuable), FAs give fact sheets an average score of 4.2, Travaglini reveals. That's well ahead of four other common types of materials: value-add practice support (3.65), thought leadership (3.64), product pitch books (3.38), and company profiles (3.13).

Travaglini urges fundsters to mind the attention that FAs pay to fact sheets by elevating those fact sheets.

"Craft fact sheets that speak directly to investor goals, highlight your fund,s strategy, and present data that helps investors assess risk and make informed decisions," Travaglini writes. "A well-structured, visually compelling fact sheet enhances readability, strengthens your firm's credibility, and ensures key insights stand out."

And Travaglini also emphasizes the importance of timeliness.

"According to FUSE's 2024 Shareholder Reports Survey, 80% of firms report meeting their fact sheet deadlines at least 75% of the time," Travaglini states. "Larger firms show slightly higher success rates in meeting deadlines. However, there is still room for improvement, especially as expected turnaround times continue to accelerate."
