TCW's [profile] next new mutual fund could include overseas investments, TCW Funds chief Chuck Baldiswieler told MFWire.com.

"We're probably looking to do one more thing on the international equity side this year," Baldiswieler said.

TCW currently boasts 31 mutual funds, including two emerging market fixed income offerings and an international small-cap one. And Baldiswieler confided that the TCW Emerging Markets Local Currency Income Fund brought in more than $200 million last year after launching on January 3, 2011 [see MFWire.com, 1/3/2011].

"It's the most successful fund launch we've ever had," Baldiswieler said.

According to Baldiswieler, TCW's boasted net inflows of $7.4 billion in 2011 and more than $2 billion year-to-date in 2012. He confirmed that he "probably will add" to his distribution team in light of the growth.

TCW had $37.4 billion in mutual fund assets as of March 7.
