State Street Global Advisors has a new global equities chief investment officer. Alistair "Ali" Lowe has stepped into the role, succeeding Arlene Rockefeller, who is retiring from the investment management arm of State Street Corp. Rockefeller's stint at SSgA spanned nearly three decades.

Prior to taking over from Rockefeller, Lowe served as CIO for multi asset class solutions. Dan Farley now has that job.
