Eaton Vance has hired a portfolio manager from ForstmannLeff Associates to run three of its funds.

Nancy Tooke, who takes the title of vice president and portfolio manager, will oversee the Eaton Vance Special Equities Fund, Small-Cap Growth Fund and Tax-Managed Small-Cap Growth Fund effective February 1.

She replaces Martha Locke, who has served as interim manager of the funds since the departure of Toni Shimura last summer, a company spokesperson said. Locke continues to be an analyst at the Boston-based firm.

Aside from the funds, Tooke will also manage separate accounts for institutional and high-net-worth clients in small-and mid-capitalization styles.
