More is merrier for Managers Investment Group: the San Francisco fund and advisory firm has appointed a sixth subadvisor to its diversified small-cap equity fund, the Managers Special Equity Fund.

Effective Tuesday, Dallas-based Smith Group Asset Management joined Donald Smith & Co, Skyline Asset Management, Westport Asset Management, Kern Capital Management, and Veredus Asset Management on the job. Each firm independently looks after its own portion of the fund; Smith Group's portion will be overseen by CEO and CIO Stephen Smith.
