T. Rowe Goes to Boca to Woo Walk Ins

News summary by MFWire's editors

Business for mutual fund firms must be picking up. Want proof? Look no further than T. Rowe Price. The Baltimore-based mutual fund firm has opened a new investor center in Boca Raton, Florida. The new center will provide a wide array of personal investment services to South Florida investors.

T. Rowe Price announces the opening today of a new walk-in Investor Center in Boca Raton, Fla., to provide a wide array of personal investment services to South Florida investors. The center is the global investment management firm's second in Florida, after a similar center in Tampa.

The Boca Raton Investor Center is located on the first floor of the Wachovia Plaza, 925 South Federal Highway. To contact the center, call 561- 338-4300 or toll-free 800-840-9509. The center is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and by appointment from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturdays.

"We have a very strong client base in Florida, and the Boca Raton Investor Center will enable us to better serve investors in South Florida who prefer to meet with a T. Rowe Price investment counselor and who want to access a wide range of investment resources all in one place," said Edward C. Bernard, chairman of T. Rowe Price Investment Services. "The new center reflects our ongoing commitment to meet the needs of our clients, helping them manage their investments in a convenient, comfortable way and make the right decisions to reach their financial goals."

The Boca Raton Investor Center offers the following services:

-- Investment Guidance: Investors can work one-on-one with an investment counselor to review their portfolios, develop asset-allocation strategies, or plan for retirement - using the firm's proprietary investment planning tools.

-- Mutual Funds: Investors can obtain information about the entire family of T. Rowe Price 100% no-load funds. They also can open new accounts or obtain personal assistance with transactions.

-- Brokerage: Investors can place orders for the purchase and sale of individual securities and deposit stock certificates in an account.

The center's investment counselors do not work on commission, enabling them to provide objective guidance focused on investors' best interests. "We look forward to serving our clients in South Florida with the same high level of service they have come to expect and appreciate from T. Rowe Price," said Mathew Lepak, manager of the Boca Raton Investor Center. "Whether investors are seeking guidance on retirement planning, rolling over an old 401K, choosing a college savings plan or simply looking for help selecting a mutual fund, visiting an investor center will allow them to work closely with an investment counselor toward their objectives."

The Boca Raton and Tampa Investor Centers are two of 14 T. Rowe Price investor centers nationwide. The others are in Walnut Creek and Woodland Hills, Calif.; Colorado Springs, Colo.; Washington, D.C.; Oak Brook and Northbrook, Il; Baltimore and Owings Mills, Md.; Wellesley, Mass.; Short Hills, N.J.; Garden City, N.Y.; and Tysons Corner, Va.

Founded in 1937, Baltimore-based T. Rowe Price Group, Inc., (NASDAQ:TROW) is a global investment management organization with $349.9 billion in assets under management as of March 31, 2007.
