Pru AVP Benintende Signs on at Mainstay Funds

Jack Benintende has joined New York Life Investment Management as managing director. He will head NYLIM's Fund Accounting & Oversight Group and serve as treasurer for the $35 billion MainStay Funds Group. Benintende was formerly vice president and assistant treasurer of mutual funds at Prudential Investments.


New York Life Investment Management LLC (NYLIM) today announced that Jack Benintende has joined the organization as managing director. He will head NYLIM's Fund Accounting & Oversight Group and serve as treasurer for the $35 billion MainStay Funds Group. Benintende will report to Stephen Fisher, senior managing director and chief marketing officer at NYLIM as well as president of the MainStay Funds.

"We are very excited to have Jack join NYLIM. With his skills and experience, he will help us strengthen our fund accounting oversight capabilities and best practices. He will also play a critical role in enabling MainStay to expand its product shelf," said Fisher.

Benintende was formerly vice president and assistant treasurer of mutual funds at Prudential Investments where he also served as treasurer and certifying financial officer under Sarbanes-Oxley for a closed-end fund. Prior to Prudential, Benintende was senior manager in the Investment Management Services Group at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP.

"We came to understand quickly that Jack's industry expertise, reputation and leadership made him the ideal candidate to run our group. It's a pleasure having him come aboard," said Fisher.

Benintende is a CPA and received his Bachelor of Business Administration from Pace University.
