Calvert CEO
Barbara Krumsiek is getting results -- and a glowing profile in the
Washington Post. The paper assigned a reporter to tag along behind Krumsiek for a couple of days. Judging by the article, the call to let in the reporter was the right one. The paper calls Krumsiek, a New Yorker transplant to Maryland -- "more direct than the average person -- and leads with a story of her handling a poorly performing fund manager. It goes on to explain Calvert's socially responsible investing mandate. The takeaway: "In terms of research, nobody can really match Calvert," said Morningstar analyst Annie Sorich. "Most of the examples we see from big fund shops is that they are pretty pitiful."
