News summary by MFWire's editors

Kevin P. Loome has joined Delaware Investments' fixed income team as the senior vice president, senior portfolio manger and head of high-yield investments. Loome was previously employed with T.Rowe Price as a portfolio manager for two funds. At Delaware, he replaces Tim Rabe, who left the company earlier this month.

Delaware Investments today announced that Kevin P. Loome has joined the company's fixed income team as Senior Vice President, Senior Portfolio Manager, and Head of High-Yield Investments, effective immediately. In this role, Mr. Loome is responsible for portfolio construction and strategic asset allocation of all high yield assets.

Prior to joining Delaware Investments in August 2007, Mr. Loome spent 11 years at T. Rowe Price, starting as an analyst and leaving the firm as a portfolio manager for two T. Rowe Price funds. He began his career with Morgan Stanley as a corporate finance analyst in the New York and London offices. Mr. Loome received his bachelor's degree in commerce from the University of Virginia and earned an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth. He earned his Chartered Financial Analyst designation in 1999.

"Kevin's skill set and track record are great assets to Delaware Investments," said Delaware Investments President Patrick P. Coyne. "With Kevin's addition to the team, I am confident that we are strategically positioned to serve the needs of our fixed-income clients and shareholders, and continue our robust growth across all asset classes."

"I admire Pat's strategic vision for Delaware Investments, and his commitment to putting the needs of clients first," said Mr. Loome. "I especially look forward to working at a firm that encourages agility, individuality, and accountability."

High yielding non-investment grade bonds involve higher risk than investment grade bonds.
