The sell-off in
State Street shares is overdone. That is the argument made in
Wednesday's Breaking Views column in the WSJ. While the bank's four conduits would cause some pain if brought onto its balance sheet, that is unlikely to happen all at once, argues the column. The bottom line, according to the argument: at 20 percent off the shares are selling at too big a discount.
