In response to the sub-prime mess, Morningstar is working with mutual fund companies to develop a tool that will allow fund investors to gauge their exposure to derivatives, Daisy Maxey reports in today's WSJ FundTrack. Joe Mansueto, announced the new product line Friday at Baron Funds' 16th annual investment conference in New York, adding that the line had been in development for more than a year and that a product roll out is "in the home stretch." Mansueto also commented that fund companies had been very cooperative in sharing the data.
