Fundsters may have have noticed
Tom Eggers'
absence from the industry over the last few months, but don't look for him at industry events any time soon. Eggers, who relinquished the reins at
Dreyfus Corp. to
Jon Baum in March last year (see
The MFWire, 02/07/08), recently joined Manhattan-based
Minyanville Media, which describes itself as a "next-generation" digital media company that produces branded content to educate people about finance.
At Minyanville, which he joined in October, Eggers serves as chief operating officer and is part of the board of advisors.
Eggers previously served as Dreyfus' president and CEO. Baum succeeded him as CEO and Charles Cardona took on the role of president. Eggers first joined Dreyfus in 1996 as head of Dreyfus Investments, rising to become president in 2001. He later took the top job at
Scudder
Investments (see
The MFWire, 04/30/02) and rejoined Dreyfus as president in April 2005
(see
The MFWire, 03/24/05).
