Manulife has launched its College Savings Employee Select. This is a system designed for employers who want to set up a 529 program for their employees. Minimum contribution from an employee is $50 a month per portfolio.

"By offering this payroll-deduction option, employers can add value to their business and employees can take advantage of the benefits of a 529 savings plan and begin planning for education early," stated Matthew Schiffman, executive vice president, alternative wealth management.
