First Mercantile Trust Company has tapped Christopher Harben to be regional sales manager for its Great Lakes region, a spokesperson with the firm told the MutualFundWire.com. He replaces Luke Bodnar, who has left the company.

Harben joins the firm from Nationwide Financial Services, where he was an internal wholesaler. For First Mercantile, the Great Lakes region encompasses Ohio, Michigan, Kentucky, Indiana, and western Pennsylvania.

At Nationwide, Harben was responsible for variable annuity products.
