Michael E. Sproule is taking the permanent chief financial officer post at New York Life Insurance Company.

The senior vice president had held the position on an acting basis from July until his election today by the board of directors. He was most recently senior vice president of mergers and acquisitions. He reports to Sy Sternberg, chairman, president and chief executive officer of New York Life.
