Affiliated Managers Group has promoted
John Kingston, III, to the post of senior vice president and general counsel. He takes over from
Nate Dalton, who was general counsel since 1996.
Dalton will remain at AMG and is shifting duties to take the title of executive vice president in charge of Affiliate Development. Kingston will report to Dalton, said a spokesperson. Kingston is now responsible for AMG's corporate legal matters, as well as assisting Affiliates with legal and compliance functions
"John has been a tremendously valuable member of the AMG team," stated
William J. Nutt, AMG's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. "We are pleased to recognize his significant contributions to the Company and its Affiliates."
Kingston has been at AMG since 1999 when he joined the fund advisor as vice president and associate general counsel. Prior to joining AMG, he was a senior counsel to Morgan Stanley's Miller Anderson & Sherrerd division, and previously was an attorney at Ropes & Gray, focusing on corporate and securities laws issues, with a particular focus on the investment management industry.
He holds a J.D. from Harvard Law School, and a B.S. and B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania.
