John Shields, ceo and president of
Citizens Advisers, is stepping down from the post, Val Dingle, vice president of marketing with the firm, told the MutualFundWire.com. His contract with the firmis at an end. In his place, a five-member operating committee will assume his duties.
The new operating committee will be comprised of the following members:
- Robert M. Gunville, senior vice president and coo;
- Jeffrey J. Schappe, senior vice president and cio;
- John O'Brien, senior vice president and cao;
- Dingle;
- and Sean P. Driscoll, vice president of fund administration and investment operations.
Shields joined Citizens three years ago. He was charged with building a strong management team at the firm.
Sophia Collier, board chair and founder of Citizens, will take over the outgoing executive's responsibilities, Dingle reported. The committee will report to her. "She is taking a more hands-on approach," she added.
