Eric Daugherty, director of research at New York-based research and consulting firm kasina, is now also a principal at the New York-based firm. He will have specific P&L responsibilities and increased community service goals, joining CEO Steve Miyao and Lee Kowarski on the leadership team.

The news about Daugherty comes as one of kasina's principals, Mike Ma, is about to leave the firm. The MFWire reported last week that Ma is heading to Vanguard next month to become an executive in the marketing group.

Daugherty, for his part, joined kasina a year ago from Vanguard, where he led the fund firm's retail advice services group.

"Eric's been acting as a leader and partner for quite a while now; having him as a Principal merely formalizes that," Miyao said in a news release on Tuesday.
