There are four new faces at Principal Funds, three of whom are in the Western sales division.

Principal Funds brought on board David Lachina, Leslee Outland and Greg Schorp as regional directors in the Western sales unit. They report to regional vice president Wayne Wagner.

Previously, Lachina was a senior vice president at Franklin Templeton, Outland was an investment wholesaler at Hartford and Schorp was regional vice president at ING Annuities. Lachina and Schorp joined Principal Funds last month and Outland started in March.

Also, Principal Funds tapped Steve Musser last month as global marketing manager, reporting to marketing director Kevin Morris. Previously, Musser was an analyst and portfolio manager at Principal Global Investors.

Spokespeople at Franklin, Hartford, ING and Principal Global Investors were not immediately available for comment on possible replacements at their respective firms.

It could not immediately be confirmed whether Lachina, Outland, Schorp and Musser are taking on newly created roles or if they're replacing others.
