Hatteras Taps a Marketing Pro from First Eagle

Hatteras Funds [see profile], a Raleigh, North Carolina-based alternative investment specialist, has hired Jessica Sherburne as director of marketing. Sherburne was previously with First Eagle Funds [see profile].

Sherburne is taking over from someone who has moved on from Hatteras, according to a company spokesperson.

No replacement for Sherburne has been announced at First Eagle.

Meanwhile, Raleigh, North Carolina-based Hatteras also promoted Nicole Parker to the newly created role of director of national accounts. Parker has been with Hatteras since 2004, most recently serving as regional director for the Midwest territory. Hatteras is currently searching for a new Midwest wholesaler, according to a company spokesperson.

Nicole L. Parker Promoted to Director of National Accounts, Jessica R. Sherburne Joins as Director of Marketing

RALEIGH, N.C. – June 13, 2011 – Hatteras Funds, a boutique alternative investment specialist dedicated to providing unique alternative investment solutions for financial advisors and their clients, is pleased to announce the promotion of Nicole L. Parker to National Accounts Director. In this role, Ms. Parker will identify, create and manage the firm's national account relationships.

"Nicole has helped advisors integrate alternative investments into long-only portfolios with confidence since she joined the firm in 2004. We believe that Nicole's successful tenure at Hatteras Funds, along with her 15 years of investment industry experience, make her uniquely qualified to oversee our national account relationships," said Brian Jacobs, CEO of Hatteras Funds.

Ms. Parker most recently served as Regional Director for the Midwest region of the U.S. She received her B.S. with a double major in Finance and Marketing from Boston College, and attended the Anderson School of Business at the University of New Mexico to pursue her M.B.A.

Hatteras Funds also announced that Jessica Sherburne has joined the firm as Marketing Director, responsible for developing and managing the firm’s brand, communications and website. “We are fortunate to have a 13-year veteran of the investment industry on our team. Jessica joins us from First Eagle Funds where she was the Director of Marketing for the past several years.” adds Jacobs.
Ms. Sherburne received her B.S. with a double major in Mathematics and Physics from Trinity College, and attended the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts to pursue her M.B.A.
