Davidson Adds its Second Fund

Reported by JY

Montana is not too far from Wall Street to build a mutual fund family. Indeed, Davidson Investment Advisors [profile] is taking the wraps off the Davidson Small/Mid Equity Fund, its second mutual fund.

Andrew Davidson, president of Davidson, told MFWire that this additional fund is for investors who have an interest in Davidson's investment philosophy. The fund takes the investment advisors philosophy and applies it to a different objective, he explained.

The firm already offers the Davidson Multi-Cap Equity Fund, which held $47.4 million of assets as of June 9, according to Morningstar.

The new mutual fund was created in order to "provide an opportunity for investors interested in small/mid cap opportunities and a chance to fulfill their asset allocations," said Davidson.

Chief investment officer Edward Crotty PMs the new fund, which will seek out shares of companies that are "largely undiscovered and/or misunderstood in the marketplace."
