Cleveland-based
Cohen Fund Audit Services is making Milwaukee a hub,
reports BizTimes.com, a Milwaukee business-news website.
Cohen opened an office in Milwaukee in September and has since expanded it from three to nine employees, with plans to grow to fifteen in the next year. The servicer has about 50 employees all told, with offices in Cleveland and Dublin, Ohio. Milwaukee is its first office outside of Ohio.
Last week,
MFWire reported that Cohen hired partner
Laura Del Prato for its Milwaukee office.
Cohen partner Chris Bellamy told the BizTimes that Milwaukee's importance in the mutual fund industry and its attractiveness to current and potential employees are behind the decision to make the city a hub.
"From our research, Milwaukee is involved with somewhere between 10 and 20 percent of all mutual funds in the country. It's something of a diamond in the rough," Bellamy said.
