Mary Schapiro has a new gig, the
Wall Street Journal reported today.
The former SEC chair has taken a job at
Promontory Financial LLC, a consulting firm reporter Jean Eaglesham writes "has built a reputation as a shadow regulator by hiring scores of former government officials."
Schapiro said in an interview that she didn't plan to over go back into government work. At Promontory, she will work as a managing director for governance and marketing, as well as giving advice on risk management and compliance, according to the
Journal story.
It was not known how much she would be paid.
