Feeney Anoints an Institutional Honcho at Robeco

Robeco Investment Management [profile] has promoted Kerry James to serves as the firm's head of institutional distribution.

James, who will start on June 1, will assume the responsibilities of retiring sales chief Paul Healey, who was hired by Robeco in June 2009.

She will be based in Boston and be responsible for institutional sales, consultant relations, relationship management and marketing services. James joined Robeco in 2007 and was named head of international distribution in 2009.

“In addition to her successful track record of developing and maintaining many of our major global business relationships, Kerry possesses the enthusiasm, energy and an integrated knowledge of Robeco’s distribution capabilities and key account relationships needed to achieve our objective of doubling AUM over the next 3 to 5 years,” stated Jay Feeney, co-CEO of Robeco Investment Management.

KERRY JAMES NAMED HEAD OF INSTITUTIONAL DISTRIBUTION



May 29, 2013   Boston, MA    Robeco Investment Management announced today that Kerry James has been named Head of Institutional Distribution effective June 1. She will be based in Boston and be responsible for institutional sales, consultant relations, relationship management and marketing services. Ms. James will be assuming the responsibilities of Paul Healey, who has announced that he is retiring at the end of June.

Ms. James is a managing director of the U.S.-based organization, which is a subsidiary of Rotterdam-based Robeco Group. She joined Robeco Investment Management in 2007. In 2009 she was named head of International Distribution. In this role, she was based in Rotterdam leading sales of investment products originating from the U.S. to Robeco’s clients throughout Europe and Asia.

Commenting on the appointment, Jay Feeney, Co-CEO of Robeco Investment Management, said, “In addition to her successful track record of developing and maintaining many of our major global business relationships, Kerry possesses the enthusiasm, energy and an integrated knowledge of Robeco’s distribution capabilities and key account relationships needed to achieve our objective of doubling AUM over the next 3 to 5 years.” 

  Mr. Feeney notes that over the past five years, Robeco Investment Management’s assets under management have increased from $12 billion (as of 12/31/2008) to $35 billion (as of 3/31/2013) and that demand continues to grow for the firm’s value equity strategies. The firm manages a full range of value equity strategies including large, mid and small cap; global and international; and long/short.

Mark Donovan, Co-CEO of Robeco Investment Management, added, “Kerry has demonstrated her success in building our international relationships and we are excited that she will be joining us in Boston to help us continue to grow the business.”

Previously, Ms. James held positions at the Monitor Group, Wellington, Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley. She has an MBA in Finance from MIT’s Sloan School of Managementand also received a BS degree from MIT in Management Science (Marketing).
