Despite recent news about the Pimco Total Return Exchange-Traded Fund [profile] net outflows, the ETF is still king, owning more than half of actively managed ETF market share, ETF Trends reports.

Data from AdvisorShares shows that Pimco, which manages seven active ETFs with total assets of $8.5 billion, has a market share of 58.7 percent.

Most ETFs are passive products. To put things in perspective, active ETFs make up $14.5 billion of a $1.5 trillion business. The tide is turning though, with more ETF firms and fund managers filing for active products.
