Rich Bernstein of Richard Bernstein Advisors called investors "habitually too optimistic" about growth in emerging markets at the
Morningstar Investment Conference,
Barrons reported. Bernstein added that emerging market investors should be more concerned about interest rates:
“The fans haven’t looked at the inflation rates,” Bernstein said. “[Emerging markets have the] highest inflation rates in the world, the highest monetary growth in the world. U.S. money growth is almost spot on the long-term average,” he said at the Morningstar Investment Conference in Chicago. “That’s not true in some of the emerging markets.”
