BlackRock's CIO of fundamental equity for America, Chris Leavy, is going on medical leave for diabetes and a related cardiovascular condition for an unspecified amount of time, reported the
WSJ. Quintin Price, global head of BlackRock's actively managed strategies, will replace Leavy while he is on leave.
Pete Stournaras will take over Leavy's responsibilities as co-manager of BlackRocks series of four large-cap mutual funds. Stouronaras has co-managed the funds with Leavy.
BlackRock is experiencing
major changes in its U.S. stock fund unit as management has been replaced at 21 out of 40 funds. Leavy had taken leadership of BlackRock's stock-fund restructuring. He came to BlackRock in 2010.
