John Hancock's [profile] fund arm is going through a name change.

John Hancock Funds is in the process of changing its name to “John Hancock Investments," according to a company spokesperson.

"We are taking this step in order to better reflect the asset management services we offer today. We manage approximately $100 billion in assets under management across a diverse set of individual and institutional clients (as of June 30, 2013)," she said.

Also, she stated, it is important to note that the name change applies to what has been known as John Hancock Funds, and not John Hancock Financial.
