It's the biggest gift to Yale. Ever.

Retired Franklin chair Charles Johnson, class of 1954, has donated $250 million to his alma mater, the biggest the university has ever received in its 312-year history, according to Yahoo Finance, New York Times, and Bloomberg

The money will go help building two new residential colleges. The university needs another $80 million for the project.
