A trade reporter just joined Reuters to cover investment management, especially ETFs.

MFWire has learned that New York City-based Trevor Hunnicutt joined the wire service on October 5. Hunnicutt joins as veteran mutual fund reporter Jessica Toonkel shifts to covering U.S. media and away from covering asset management. Hunnicutt reports to Linda Stern, Wall Street editor.

A San Francisco native and an alumnus of Pomona and the London School of Economics and Political Science, Hunnicutt most recently served as a reporter at Crain's InvestmentNews, where he covered asset management, wealth management, financial technology, and financial markets. Indeed, on September 30 that trade publication posted a job for a full-time mutual fund reporter.

Prior to joining InvestmentNews two years ago, Hunnicutt reporter for the Point Reyes Light and interned with the AP, the Cleveland Plain Dealer, and the San Francisco Chronicle, as well as Reuters itself.
