Yesterday the Newport Beach, California-based Allianz subsidiary confirmed the creation of the five-person Pimco global advisory board. Former Fed chairman
Ben Bernanke, who
signed on with Pimco in April as a senior advisor, will lead the new board. The other four members are:
Gordon Brown, former Prime Minister and former Chancellor of the Exchequer of the United Kingdom;
Jean-Claude Tricher, former president of the European Central Bank;
Ng Kok Song, former chief investment officer of the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation; and
Anne-Marie Slaughter, former director of policy planning for the U.S. State Department.
Dan Ivascyn, group CIO for Pimco, calls the new board "an unrivalled team of macroeconomic thinkers and former policymakers."
