The new chief of Schroders [profile] is searching for acquisitions.

Madison Marriage of the Financial Times reports that Peter Harrison, 49, "is on the hunt to acquire a fixed income fund company." Harrison ascended in March, while prior CEO Michael Dobson retired in April.

"Asset-backed securities," the FT, are "a particular area of interest" for Harrison.

Schroders has acquired at least one other fixed income shop, STW. That deal was unveiled in 2012 and closed in 2013.
