M&A

On August 14, the merger between Aberdeen PLC and Standard Life Plc. closed. Aberdeen is now a direct subsidiary of Standard Life and the company will change its name to Standard Life Aberdeen plc. as a result of the merger.

Fund Updates

On October 23, the Eaton Vance Short Duration Real Return Fund will become the Eaton Vance Short Duration Inflation-Protected Income Fund. The fund will change its investment strategy by investing at least 80% of its net assets into inflation protected instruments.

Advisors

On August 14, BioShares Biotechnology Products Fund and BioShares Biotechnology Clinical Trials Fund renewed their investment advisory agreement with Virtus ETF advisors. Upon renewal, Virtus assumed responsibility for day-to-day management of the funds' portfolio. LifeSci Index Partners, LLC now serves as the index provider to each of the funds' underlying index.

Reorganization

On September 22, the JNL Institutional Alt 35 Fund will be reorganized into the JNL Institutional Alt 20 Fund.

Terminations

On September 13, the Value Line Defensive Strategies Fund will liquidate.

On September 15, Plan Investment Funds' Ultrashort Duration Bond Portfolio and Ultrashort Duration Government Portfolio will liquidate.

Class Shares

On August 16, employer sponsored plans and employer sponsored IRAs with class C shares of a Rydex Dynamic Fund through RBC Wealth Management may convert their class C shares to class A shares of equal aggregate value as part of a pre-arranged, one-time, multiple client transaction through RBC. There will be no sales charges for the transaction.
