After nine years overseeing
Charles Schwab's mutual fund relationships,
Doug Hanson is passing the reins.
Hanson, formerly vice president of third party products at the San Francisco-based brokerage giant, now serves as senior relationship manager for Schwab Advisor Services, the RIA-focused unit at Schwab,
MFWire has learned. Industry scuttlebutt has it that
Heather Fischer, vice president and head of Schwab's ETF platform management team, now oversees both the mutual fund and ETF teams.
Mike Wood, managing director of third-party products, referred inquiries to a Schwab spokesperson. That spokesperson, in turn, did not respond to a request for comment on the changes.
Hanson, an alumnus of both Bryant University and UMass Boston, has been with Schwab for more than 20 years. He worked as a project manager, relationship manager, and then in clearing before becoming vice president of third-party mutual funds relationship management in 2005. He rose to lead the platform third-party mutual funds team for
OneSource in 2008.
Fischer (nee McCormick), an alumnus of both the University of Florida and the University of Chicago, is an 11-year Schwab veteran. She joined in 2006 in strategy and has since held roles in marketing, client acquisition, and "affluent innovation" before taking over the ETF platform management team in 2014. Prior to Schwab she worked at Bain and at Kraft Foods.
