American Funds has won a shelf space on ING's variable annuity product aisle. The insurer has added three portfolios from American Funds Insurance Series to its ING GoldenSelect and ING SmartDesign variable annuity products, said Jim McInnis, president of ING Wholesale Distribution.

The new options include:

ING American Funds Growth Portfolio

ING American Funds Growth-Income Portfolio

ING American Funds International Portfolio

"These three new options will help ING's variable annuity investors create a well rounded portfolio," said Peter Doran, executive vice president at American Funds Distributors in a statement announcing the additions.
