A former asset management chief just took a board seat with a discount brokerage giant, after another board member died.
Josh Weinreich now serves on
E*TRADE's board, and on its compensation and governance committees,
confirms Rodger Lawson, executive chairman of the New York City-based firm. Weinreich's appointments comes after the
death earlier this month of another New Jersey-based E*TRADE board member,
Frederick Kanner.
Lawson calls Weinreich "a fantastic addition" to E*TRADE's board, with "high energy" and "leadership experience, broad industry knowledge, and financial services expertise."
Meanwhile, Weinreich currently chairs the board for
Leeds West Groups and serves on the board for the
Skybridge Multi-Adviser Hedge Fund Portfolios.
Weinreich previously served as CEO of Deutsche Asset Management Americas. And he previously spent four years on the board of AllianceBernstein, another U.S. asset manager owned by a giant German parent. He also held top positions at Bankers Trust and is an alumnus of both Cornell University and of UPenn's Wharton School of Business.
