A trio of Prudential brokers each deny that they used fraud to hide market-timing trades in mutual funds. The revelation was made in court documents filed on Tuesday and obtained by the
Boston Herald.
The paper reports that Martin Druffner, Skifter Ajro and John Peffer -- all brokers from a Boston branch office -- contest civil fraud charges brought by the Securities and Exchange Commission. The SEC contends that the brokers misrepresented their own and their customers' identities to trick mutual funds into accepting trades.
