A veteran fundster has taken a leadership role in the east at a publicly traded, independent broker-dealer, and this particular hire comes with more than twenty years of experience with asset managers.

Shannon Massey, a veteran sales executive who once worked on the DC I-O side of the business, has moved on to
LPL Financial as divisional manager in the east. Massey, based in Boston, most recently served as national account manager for
SSGA's [
profile] SPDR ETFs. She joined LPL last month.
Massey was not immediately able to comment. A spokesperson for LPL was not immediately able to comment on this story.
In an emailed statement, SSGA spokesperson Olivia Offner writes, "I can confirm that Shannon Massey is no longer with State Street Global Advisors as of June. Her responsibilities have been assumed by the rest of the SPDR distribution team in North America, which ... is led by Sue Thompson."
Prior to her work with LPL, Massey was a national account manager with SSGA from 2015 to 2021. She served as an SSGA sales desk manager for one year before that. From 2010 to 2012, Massey
was with Natixis and the company's global asset management division. Earlier she worked on the DC side at Mercer and
AllianceBernstein, and she also served in a variety of roles at Putnam. She is an alumna of Mount Saint Mary College.
LPL was founded in 1989 and currently works with around $1 trillion in serviced or custodied brokerage and advisory client assets. The company lays claim to being the largest indie B-D in the United States.
