At least two late September industry events are transforming in light of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

The team at the Investment Management Education Alliance (
IMEA) is changing their
IMEA Leadership Summit, originally scheduled as an in-person event next Thursday, September 29 at the Mid-America Club in Chicago. The summit will now be virtual and broken into two parts: session 1, "The Investment Management Industry Reimagined," will be on September 29, starting at 1pm eastern; session 2, "Opportunities in Customization, Client Preferences & Tax Efficiency," will be one week later, on October 6, at the same time.
Kimber Lintz, director at IMEA, put the change in the light of "the current Covid environment."
Separately, earlier this month, the
Informa team
confirmed that their giant
Inside ETFs conference, which had been scheduled for next week (September 27 - 29) as an in-person event at the Diplomat Beach Resort in Hollywood, Florida, will be postponed to next year. (The change comes despite the Informa team's requirement that all attendees show proof of vaccination or a recent negative COVID test.)
"Our community's health and safety will always come first and, unfortunately, the risks associated with hosting a large-scale event in Florida right now are just too high," the Informa team posted.
A spokesperson for Informa confirms that "the team is finalizing the details to host the event in June 2022."
