A former fundster chief will help guide a big department store chain.

On Friday,
Marie Chandoha joined the board of directors for
Macy's, Inc.. (Chandoha is one of two new directors who
joined the New York City-based retailer's board that day. The board now has 14 members.)
Chandoha, age 60, also
serves on the
board of State Street and as an
advisor to Zoe Financial. She previously led Charles Schwab Investment Management before
retiring back in
2019.
Jeff Gennette, chairman and CEO of Macy's, lauds Chandoha and the other new board member as
highly respected future-oriented leaders with proven track records as operators and innovators who bring strong and relevant expertise." Gennettee specifically praises Chandoha for her "deep financial services and capital markets experience."
Paul Varga, lead independent director on Macy's board, highlights an "ongoing effort to enhance the expertise and diversity" of the Macy's board.
"Strong capital investment and discipline are core to Macy's Inc.'s Polaris strategy, and I am eager to work with the board to help position the company for continued success in today's competitive and rapidly changing environment," Chandoha states.
Before taking over CSIM in 2010, Chandoha led BGI's global fixed income business. Earlier, she had fixed income roles at WFAM, Goldman Sachs, Credit Suisse, and Morgan Stanley, and she also worked at the Fed. She is an alumna of Harvard University.
