The ETF side of the asset management industry grew at a record pace last year and continues to reach new milestones, both across the world and in the U.S. in particular, according to the latest data from the folks at an ETF-focused research firm.

This week,
Debbie Fuhr, managing partner of
ETFGI,
revealed that a record $1.5 trillion net flowed into U.S. exchange-traded funds and exchange-traded products in 2025, up by $330 billion year-over-year from the prior record in
2024. The U.S. accounted for 63.3 percent of the 2025
worldwide ETF and ETP inflows of $2.37 trillion (also a new record, up by $490 billion Y/Y from the prior record in 2024).
The ETFGI team reports that the U.S. ETF and ETP industry reached a record $13.43 trillion in AUM on December 31, 2025, up by $210 billion (1.6 percent) month-over-month from the prior record on
November 30, 2025 and up by $3.08 trillion (29.8 percent) Y/Y from December 31, 2024. As of the end of last month, the U.S. now accounts for 67.7 percent of worldwide ETF and ETP AUM of $19.85 trillion. (Worldwide ETF and ETP AUM also reached a new peak last month, up by $410 billion M/M from the prior record on November 30, 2025 and up by $5 trillion Y/Y from December 31, 2024.)
Last month, per ETFGI's data, the U.S. ETF and ETP industry brought in $223 billion in net inflows, up by $79.28 billion (55.2 percent) M/M and up by $75.69 billion (51.4 percent) Y/Y. The U.S. accounted for 67.4 percent of the $330.78 billion in worldwide ETF and ETP inflows in December 2025 (which were up by $112.54 billion M/M and up by $123.05 billion Y/Y).
December 2025 extended the U.S. ETF and ETP inflows streak to 44 months and counting. Last month also extended the worldwide inflows streak to 79 months.
As of December 31, 2025, the ETFGI team reports, the U.S> asset management idustry offered 4,883 ETFs and ETPs, up by 110 (2.3 percent) M/M and up by 953 (24.2 percent) Y/Y. The U.S. now accounts for 30.9 percent of the 15,807 ETFs and ETPs worldwide. (The global count is up by 197 M/M and up by 2,609 Y/Y.)
Per ETFGI's data, 460 ETF and ETP providers operated in the U.S. as of December 31, 2025, up by 11 (2.4 percent) M/M and up by 96 (26.4 percent) Y/Y. U.S. ETF and ETP providers now account for 47.6 percent of the 967 ETF and ETP providers worldwide. (The worldwide count is up by 18 M/M and by 153 Y/Y.)
