Janus will finalize plans to hire additional wholesalers in the coming month, said
Erich Gerth, senior vice president and managing director at Janus.
The new hires will reflect the level of experience of the current team, who have on average 12 years of wholesaling experience, or 20 years of industry experience, said Gerth.
The additional wholesalers will continue to work with the broker dealers that Janus already has existing relationships with, said Gerth. Janus favors a "narrow and deep" approach, added Gerth.
The move is part of an initiative launched by Steve Scheid, president of Janus, to stabilize asset loss at the company. In a first quarter 2004
presentation,
Janus identifies "[o]btain Janus Funds Trustee approval to aggressively penetrate the broker-dealer channel" as one means of achieving stabilization.
