Sentinel Management parent National Life has brought on
Christian W. Thwaites to head a new entity that combines NL Capital Management, National Life's institutional asset management business, and Sentinel's fund business.
In total, Thwaites will oversee an investment management business with $16 billion in assets, as well as the distribution and servicing arms of Sentinel. He will also take over the responsibilities of Rodney A. Buck, the current chief executive of Sentinel Advisors Company. Buck will retire in March.
Thwaites most recently leaves a role as CEO of Skandia's Global Funds, a position he has held since 2001. Prior to that, he was a vice president and national marketing director of American Skandia.
The company does not anticipate any additional personnel changes related to the reorganization, said spokeswoman Kerri Gulesserian.
