Matthew Scanlan has been named head of Americas institutional business at
Barclays Global Investors, the firm announced in a
release.
In his new role, Scanlan will be responsible for BGI's entire U.S., Canadian and Latin America institutional business. He will report directly to Blake Grossman, co-chief executive officer of the firm.
Scanlan replaces Peter Landin, who left BGI in December of 2004. Prior to his promotion, Scanlan managed institutional sales and services for North America. Scanlan joined BGI in 1997.
BGI also announced that the business would be renamed from United States Institutional Business to Americas Institutional Business.
