Legg Mason subsidiary Legg Mason Capital Management has tapped the ranks of McKinsey & Co to fill a strategy position at the firm.

Elizabeth Hughes joins LMCM as vice president, director of corporate strategy, a new role, said spokesman Jeffrey Bukowski.

Hughes was a previously a principal at McKinsey, where she provided strategic and business development consulting services for asset management clients.

LMCM is the advisor for $51 billion in Legg Mason mutual fund, separate account and pooled account money.
