AIG’s alternative investment group, AIG Global Investment Group, has brought on a private equity executive. Robert Thompson will serve as senior managing director of AIG Global, based out of New York.

Thompson reports directly to Win Neuger, executive vice president and chief investment officer of AIG Global.

Thompson was formerly a founder of Greenwich, Connecticut-based private equity firm Ferrer Freeman Thompson & Co.
