James Kase has left Merrill Lynch Investment Managers for a top position with ING Investment Management Americas.

Kase will head distribution for ING's institutional and managed account business, be responsible for consultaint and client relationships, and sit on ING's management committee. Previously, Kase was chief operating officer of MLIM's domestic institutional business.

An ING spokeswoman did not immediately return a call regarding Kase's predecessor at ING.
