New York Life Investment Management is bolstering the retail distribution of its MainStay funds with the hire of a quartet of wholesalers. The hires are part of a push that saw the fund provider hire 19 wholesalers since April 2004.
The four newest hires will cover Northeast, Midwest and Southwest as regional vice presidents and will market and sell MainStay products to intermediaries at national, full service brokerage firms, regional firms and independent broker-dealers.
Chris Blunt, president of MainStay Investments said that the firm's wholesalers are focusing on helping advisors build their practices. "They are looking for clever ways to strengthen their practice. Having experienced wholesalers is critical to making that happen," he explained.
The new hires are
Patrick Comer,
Jay Jackson,
Ryan Carroll, and
Annmarie Woods.
Comer joined the firm from AllState and will work with national and regional brokerages in Ohio and Kentucky. Prior to Allstate, he held positions at Putnam Investments and The Rockport Company.
Jackson will cover Northern Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas and Oklahoma and was most recently at Dreyfus Investments. Before that he was a wholesaler at Putnam Investments.
Carroll's region includes Northern California and Nevada. He was previously regional sales director at Gartmore Global Investments.
Woods will call on financial advisors in New Jersey. Prior to joining MainStay Investments, she was a mutual funds specialist at Merrill Lynch and has worked at Pioneer Investments, Prudential Investments and Keystone Distributors.
