Amerprise Hire Focuses on Institutions

RiverSource Investments is building out its institutional sales team. The Minneapolis-based investment advisor is an affiliate of Ameriprise Financial, the financial services business carved out of American Express earlier this year.

The most recent hire at the money manager is Denise Pearman. She takes the title of regional vice president for institutional sales and reports to Christopher P. Keating, head of Institutional and Hedge Fund Sales, Client Service and Consultant Relations for RiverSource Investments.

She will cover the Midwest region and work with institutional consultants.

Pearman was most recently at Turner Investment Partners, where she held institutional sales and marketing responsibilities. She has also worked for Boston Partners Asset Management, and Loomis, Sayles & Company.

"Denise’s thorough understanding of the institutional business will help us establish our presence in the institutional marketplace where we market under several offering brands including RiverSource Institutional Advisors and RiverSource Alternative Investments, as well as on behalf of our affiliates, including Kenwood Capital Management," said Keating.
