Target date mutual funds, which have skyrocketed in popularity since 2001, may not be all they're cracked up to be reports a study by J.P. Morgan Asset Management published on MarketWatch. Morgan warns that an asessment of historical data on target date funds shows that are prone to experience high levels of volatility. They are popular among investors due to the fact that they are low maintence one stop shopping for retirement where funds are concerned. So one stop may not be all the shopping needed.
